You may not feel you have the time or energy to tend a large flower garden, but
a backyard herb garden is a delightful addition no matter where you live. Herbs
offer so many benefits for such a small investment of time, money, and water. If
you love to cook, there’s untold pleasure in harvesting your own fresh herbs to
add to salads, marinades, dressings, cocktails, and desserts. At the height of
season, you’ll enjoy gathering large armfuls of herbs to add fragrance and
texture to floral bouquets or to elegantly garnish platters of hors d’oeuvres
for a late-summer party. The possibilities are endless.
